Day 5

Today we woke up at 7:00am after a very late night. We were all so tired, especially Frankie and Grace, they both fell asleep on the on the way to the school. When we got to the school we met Ornella out side and then we got on the coach. It was very cosy the coach and we quickly started or adventure to Siena. The trip was very long but the sights were amazing.

When we arrived we visited one of the oldest patisseries in Italy and watched how they make lots of sweet treats. Grace was invited to try and make the biscuits and did an excellent job. They tased delicious and were well worth the wait from the oven.
After that we went to big church museum it was like a Disney princess castle. How cool.  In fact it as the duomo (cathedral) of Siena. The cathedral was utterly beautiful inside with lots of grand, yet intracate decorations. There was a large carved pulpit with spiral stairs leading to the top - it was very different to the pulpits we get in England. We then lit a candle and prayed for those who we love! Next to were we lit the candles there was a pray space which was very peaceful - we sat quietly - it was very calming!

Once we had visited gazing at the sights in the cathedral we took another trip to the countryside of Siena and visited a farmhouse agriturismo and had homemade pasta for lunch followed by pork and potatoes and dessert was chocolate mousse. Everything was perfect. Frankie had seconds- of course.  Miss Bell thinks she has hollow legs!!!

We then took a trip to Mrs Thompsons favourite place in the world - San Gimignano! We didn't have long but we loved it. The town has 12 towers and the buildings were gorgeous. The views from the top were breathtaking.

After an extremely long day we were dropped off bear Florence and got the bus back to the hotel. We were wiped out!!!!! Time for Zzzzzzzzz!  While Mrs Norton helped us to start the difficult task of packing our cases, Miss Bell popped out for take away pizzas which we sat and are in our Pjs!

What a day! It's our final day tomorrow- we can't believe the week has gone so quickly.
